About

I grew up in Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province and still see myself as an islander. Every summer I return for several months where I also have a studio overlooking French River. The rest of the year I live in Portland, Maine with my husband. Wicked lucky, eh?!

I started working with metals after my chemistry degree in the seventies but didn’t dream my lab would take the form of a jeweler’s bench and metal smithing. I love working with silver and find the design process fascinating. Organic forms inspire me as well as finding balance in asymmetrical forms.

The words that come to mind in creating my designs are clean, simple, elegant, contemporary, organic and fun. Elements of good design in jewelry are much like a well lived life – always searching for truth and balance while remaining open to the unexpected.

My jewelry studies have been with the Heartwood College of Art in Kennebunk, Maine, Maine College of Art in Portland and other courses I’ve taken along the way. Portland is a wonderful city for artists and I am always excited to join a class in the winter months.
